3. 2012 The Ride begins

This is to be the motorcycle/Trike trip we have been dreaming and planning for years.  Our goal was  to leave Minnesota during the winter months and ride south. Like Gypsy's, no concrete destinations, just winding roads and hills.  To visit new places and see friends and friends we haven't  met yet.  The questions kept coming at us, how?  and Where? and Why? Why? Why?
For sometime we have been sending our friends a ride report when we finished a major trip.  They seemed to enjoy them and were anxious to hear about this trip.  This will be that ride  report,  we are new at this so bear with us.  We plan on doing some pictures and a map link.  ( as soon as we learn how to do it.) We have a gps tracker that leaves a trail on a map so our concerned friends and relatives can keep an eye on us.  We will add comments on the trip as we go.
When you asked us where we were going, we used to say we were heading south, stopping every hundred miles to ask if they sold ice scrapers, if they said yes, we were going to get back on the trike and keep going until the answer was. "what's an ice scraper" .  We then modified our answer to, just south and when you said where?  We would say, "don't know, haven't been there yet.   You seemed to think because we had planned this for years that there would be more details, well this blog will be the details as we go.
Our dream plan was to ride our motorcycle converted to a trike, pull a small camper/trailer head to Nova Scotia as the fall leaves were turning and then go along the Eastern coast south as the leaves turned ending up where we could ride most of the winter.  We would stay in the camper or with friends from a motorcycle bed and breakfast that we belong to, or if we thought we were going to be in one area for a while, rent a efficiency apartment or sleeping room.   Because of our late start this year we are heading directly south riding some motorcycle roads as weather permits and will end up in Texas.  Depending on our feelings about this ride, we will then look at the Nova Scotia trip idea.
Welcome and thanks for joining us, we hope you enjoy the ride.
